I was brought in to assist with a ConfigMgr project.  In their task sequence there was a task to install the ConfigMgr client along with 3 hotfixes during OSD.  There was problems and it turned out none of the hotfixes were being installed during the task sequence.  You can’t verify the hotfixes were installed by looking in Programs and Features.  The only way to verify if the hotfixes were actually installed was to look at certain files directly.  Below is a quick and dirty way to see if that hotfix was installed on the client or not.
